The world's largest sweets fair has been held in Cologne every year since 1971. The Krone took a look around the land of sugar and calories and discovered many new products and trends that will hit the international markets in 2025. Austrian manufacturers also revealed problems and challenges in the battle for sales, sustainability and developments.

A chocolate praline here, an energy drink there, plus a chip with blue cheese - the Krone tasted its way through the temptations of international producers at the sweets fair in Cologne. While the blood sugar level shot through the roof in step with the calorie balance, curiosity was aroused with every sweet, every snack, every innovation.
