Rare, but still: boss gives staff a vacation

Well, that sounds incredible: in Germany, a hotel owner has closed her entire resort - and treated all her employees to a vacation on Fuerteventura. In Lower Bavaria, a master hairdresser has already financed time off for her staff for the last two years. This makes us wonder: are there any employers in this country who are so generous? 

All-inclusive vacation in a four-star hotel with a large pool area on the beach: that's how well the 30 employees of the "Tarnewitzer Hof" in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have been doing this year. Manager Christiane Kühnemann-Springmann had financed a five-day break for her team on the island of Fuerteventura. "Relax, have fun and enjoy the sun together," the team posted on social media, "we're having a really good time!" 

The team of master hairdresser Maria Metzler from Lower Bavaria was similarly happy: she sent her employees on vacation to Crete in 2023 and then to Dubai last year.

And here in Germany? Are there any similarly generous employers and businesses? "Yes, we know something similar from Austria," reports the Austrian Hotel Association (ÖHV).
