Vienna’s climate councillor still heats with gas himself

Jürgen Czernohorszky (SPÖ) is well aware of the problems with Vienna's "phase out gas" strategy. The city councillor talks about climate neutrality in 2040, mini-forests, the congestion charge and the weakening of monument protection so that the Viennese can erect awnings and air conditioning systems in the fight against the mega heat in summer.

"Krone": Mr. Czernohorszky, as a climate city councillor you are certainly setting a good example. Do you still heat your home with gas?
Jürgen Czernohorszky: Yes, I am a tenant of an apartment in an old building and therefore hopefully one of the beneficiaries of the city's strategy, which means that our landlord will also have to convert one day.
