The majority of the Carinthian municipality of Krems is in favor of a ban on wind power. Not without reason, as option contracts for wind turbines have already been signed in this area. 

The result of the wind power survey could not be clearer. In the municipality of Krems, 522 people - or 86.14 percent - voted against wind turbines. This makes Krems, with 1323 eligible voters, the Carinthian stronghold of wind power opponents. The voter turnout of 45.08 percent shows just how important the issue is to citizens - far above the national average. And not without reason.
