What happens when a person goes missing

Many country people have currently disappeared, including a hiker in the Almtal valley and an author on the Dachstein massif. The "Krone" wanted to know from an investigator how the two cases are progressing and whether a violent crime can be ruled out. But not all of the missing persons want to be found.

One wanted to look after the cattle on the mountain pasture in August last year and never returned. The other disappeared without a trace after a hike with her husband on June 30, 2024. Although hundreds of men and search dogs searched for the author Bodo Hell (81) on the Dachstein massif and for the hiker Helga W. (64) in the Almtal valley, there is still no trace of either of them.
