Würth's handover of power
She will turn the Festival’s screws in future
A handover of power at Würth, the main sponsor of the Salzburg Festival: company boss Reinhold Würth (89) is stepping down this year and handing over the agenda for promoting art and culture. This will also have an impact on the Salzburg Festival, to which Würth provides substantial financial support. In future, another family member will decide on the millions spent in the city of Mozart.
Reinhold Würth's career began early: from the age of 14, he sold screws from his father's business. At the age of 19, he took over the business after his father's sudden death and developed the two-man operation into a billion-dollar company. Würth also developed his passion on the side: art patronage. Now the magnate is handing over the reins to his granddaughter.
