The blue handwriting in the program of the new Styrian state government is unmistakable: begging may be banned, corona fines are about to be repaid, gender equality will be restricted. But there are also ÖVP hobbyhorses that have made it into the paper.

The government program comprises more than 130 pages, and some controversial points were leaked in advance. For example, the "Krone" reported on the establishment of a documentation center for political Islam. In future, municipalities will be able to issue a sectoral ban on begging at certain locations (such as bus stops or in front of schools). And the internal I and other special gender characters such as asterisks will be banned in national documents.
