Mountain rescue retrieved fallen dog from rock face

A hike by a 34-year-old Austrian woman in Kufstein ended on Saturday with a mountain rescue mission: her dog had fallen over a rock face and could not be found. The drone helped to find her. 

At around 9.40 a.m. on Saturday, the Tyrol control center received an emergency call that a 34-year-old Austrian woman's dog had slipped on a snow field while climbing the so-called Kaiser ascent and had subsequently fallen over a rock face.

The Kufstein mountain rescue team was alerted and assisted by the Kufstein police with the help of a drone.

The dog was located by drone about ten meters below the crash site, sitting on the rock face. The four-legged friend was rescued by Kufstein Mountain Rescue from the approx. 60-metre-high rock face and handed over unharmed to the dog's owner at around 11.30 am.
