Gas tap turned off! Tenants are now sitting in the cold

EKO Oberwart is Burgenland's oldest shopping center and now also the town's biggest eyesore. Now there is more than just the proverbial icy cold between tenants and owners.

The former shopping temple in the heart of the district suburb was opened 40 years ago, and at its peak there were more than 20 well-known tenants who enjoyed brisk business. On its milestone birthday, the air is thick in the shopping center, to which three tenants are still loyal. The reason for this is a dispute with the landlord, which has come to a head in recent months and is now even before the courts.
