Criminals are increasingly using artificial intelligence and faking voices. Victims of scam calls are sure they are hearing their children who are in distress. The scam is already commonplace in the USA, and now there are also the first cases in Styria.

Fortunately, many Styrians have already been sensitized: If they get a call from someone claiming that something has happened to their own child, it is often a telephone scam. But cyber fraudsters are now going an incredible step further: they are working with voices of randomly selected people, which they clone with the help of AI programs.
