Driver and four occupants ejected from the road

On Sunday evening, a young woman drove onto the left-hand lane of the Loiblpass federal highway for an unknown reason, drove over a traffic island and left the road. The vehicle and its five occupants overturned and came to rest on its roof. 

On Sunday evening at around 11 p.m., an 18-year-old from the district of St. Veit an der Glan was driving her car on the Loiblpass road (B91) in Lambichl (district of Klagenfurt). For an as yet unexplained reason, her car crossed into the oncoming lane, drove over a traffic island and left the road. The car overturned several times and finally came to a standstill on its roof. The five occupants were able to free themselves from the vehicle at the scene. 

Three people injured to an unknown degree
The driver (18), the 17-year-old passenger and an 18-year-old passenger were injured to an undetermined degree in the traffic accident. The injured persons were taken by ambulance to Klagenfurt Hospital.

The car sustained serious material damage. A traffic sign was torn from its anchoring in this incident and thrown against the façade of an adjacent building, also causing considerable damage. 

16 emergency crews from the Maria Rain and Köttmannsdorf fire brigades were involved in the rescue operation.
