In Ausseerland: Aquarius loves salt girl

The salt deposits in the Styrian Salzkammergut region have now been "immortalized" musically in the year of the Capital of Culture. Commissioned by the Aussee Baroque Days, Vanni Moretto (music) and Stefano Simone Pintor (libretto) turned the ancient legend of the water sprite at Grundlsee into a contemporary opera.

The legend of "Der Wassermann vom Grundlsee" still tells of the discovery of salt deposits in Ausseerland. Now, for the first time, it has been turned into an opera, which premiered on Sunday in Grundlsee in a diverse production.
