Busy times for the “baby makers”

The anti-baby movement is growing in Burgenland, as is the number of couples experiencing a fertility crisis. Reproductive medicine specialist Kazem Nouri, who also fulfills cancer patients' dreams of having a baby at the Fertility Institute at Oberpullendorf Clinic, knows why this is the case. 

Birth rates are falling worldwide; in Austria, the birth deficit last year was as high as at the end of the Second World War. The anti-baby movement is also on the rise in Burgenland. In the previous year, there were 1477 fewer newborns than deaths. The total fertility rate was below the national average of 1.32 children per woman.
