From July 26 to August 11, the world will be watching Paris - and the Seine metropolis will be looking back: advanced AI tools and other surveillance technologies are to ensure large-scale security at the Summer Olympics. However, the price is high.

More than 10,000 athletes, twice as many accredited journalists, four times as many volunteers and, according to the latest estimates, around 11.5 million tourists are expected to attend the Games in Paris. The security efforts of the French metropolis of millions are correspondingly large, but according to observers, they go far beyond the usual extent for the Olympic Games.
