In Tyrol, there is only one doctor who performs abortions. The state government wanted to change this - and has now failed for the time being because doctors have backed down. Reports from two women who talk about their experiences show just how individual the issue is.

Maria and Eva - both names have been changed to protect them - talk about their abortions. Maria is now married and has three children. She had an abortion around 20 years ago. She was 19 years old at the time. Eva was 33 years old when she became pregnant unintentionally. She now has two children with her husband.
