Stabbed in the stomach: 15-year-old attacked in a park

A 15-year-old boy had actually just wanted to meet up with a friend (17) in a park near Mariahilfer Straße in Vienna. But what happened next is hard to believe. A stranger is said to have suddenly approached the two boys and stabbed the younger one in the stomach with a knife! The victim was taken to hospital. 

The 15-year-old was beaten by the unknown man on Saturday night and then stabbed in the stomach with a sharp object. According to police reports on Sunday, the weapon used was probably a knife.

Motive for the crime still unclear
It is still unclear why the incident occurred. The victim was walking with a 17-year-old friend in a park near Mariahilfer Straße in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus.

Perpetrator was able to escape
According to the current state of the investigation, the suspect approached the two young people out of nowhere and began his attack. He then fled in an unknown direction. The injured 15-year-old was given emergency medical treatment by the Vienna Professional Rescue Service and then taken to hospital.

The investigation is ongoing. The youth has not yet been questioned in detail.
