16-year-old goes on a rampage with a firearm in a Viennese apartment

It's hard to believe what happened in an apartment in Vienna-Döbling late on Thursday evening. A 16-year-old is said to have gone on the rampage in his parents' home. The boy also allegedly had a firearm with him. The police were alerted.

The teenager from Russia is said to have been shouting loudly and lashing out in the apartment. He had a suspected firearm with him. The whole incident is also said to have taken place in front of his underage sister. 

Teen caught at the train station
After the emergency services were alerted, the 16-year-old could no longer be found on site. "In the course of a patrol in the surrounding area, the suspect was stopped near Heiligenstadt train station," said police spokeswoman Julia Schick on Saturday. The whole incident took place at around 11 pm. 

Firearm not found
When the boy was apprehended, however, the weapon could not be found. He was provisionally arrested on suspicion of making a dangerous threat. He was banned from entering and approaching the premises and a temporary weapons ban was issued. He was also reported to the police.
