Why earthquake sniffer “Russell” is retiring

Whether in the rubble of the 2023 quake in Turkey or searching for missing people, the Jack Russell terrier has traveled the world and spread a lot of hope during crises. The "Krone" visited him at his new "job" to find out why the "little rocket" is cutting back on his paws and what his owner Daniel Oeler has planned for him. 

When it came to saving human lives, the furry friend with his extraordinary sense of smell was always at the forefront. Particularly during disaster operations, between tons of concrete and rubble, maximum concentration was required: time was of the essence, but the "little rocket" had to take every step with caution to avoid getting caught under the rubble himself.
