Why our children don’t go to school

Corona has turned many things upside down. Even in schools. The children sat at home for a long time. Then they didn't all come back to class. They were called truants and punished. Affected parents from Tyrol tell the "Krone" why this happened and what frustrates them. 

Home schooling is enshrined as a right in the Austrian constitution. However, it requires the approval of the education directorate and conditions must be met. In Tyrol, there are around 30 to 40 families from whom the authorities have withdrawn their authorization. However, the parents still continue with home schooling. This offense is called a violation of compulsory education.
