Speeding driver already has his car back

The 20-year-old speeding driver whose car was temporarily taken away from him last weekend in Salzburg has got it back. He was driving at 135 km/h in the local area.

Two police investigation results favored the driver. When he was driving at 135 km/h through the 50 km/h zone on the Innsbrucker Bundesstraße in Salzburg-Maxglan last weekend, he was still outside the local area. This is decisive for the assessment of whether his vehicle will be confiscated.

The 20-year-old had not been convicted in the last four years and had no previous convictions. A friend picked up the car, which was temporarily parked in a garage. The speeding driver must now pay the towing fee of over 500 euros and a fine of 2000 euros for speeding. His driving license will also be revoked for three months.

If the 20-year-old is caught speeding again in the next four years, he could face more severe consequences. His vehicle could then be confiscated for good and he would be banned from driving for at least a year.
