After the withdrawal of more than 100 vehicles that had "besieged" a gopher habitat near Gerasdorf near Vienna, the case is far from over - neither in public discussions nor in the files: This is because the Ministry of the Interior has initiated a detailed investigation into the authorities' actions. "He simply hung up during the conversation": The organization Tierschutz Austria has had a long and intensive weekend due to the "gopher siege" - which apparently should also include a rather unfortunate conversation with a police officer from Gerasdorf station. "I wanted to explain to the officer the explosive nature of a necessary intervention when the connection was suddenly severed," explains spokeswoman Michaela Lehner.
