Carinthia is desperately looking for panel doctors

Officially, Carinthia is the only federal state to have filled all of its posts for statutory health insurance doctors. But appearances are deceptive, as patients have to put up with extremely long waiting times and sometimes have to pay for their treatment out of their own pockets.

Two-tier medicine is also taking on dramatic forms in Carinthia, as waiting times for statutory health insurance doctors are getting longer and longer. According to the Austrian Health Insurance Fund, all positions for statutory health insurance doctors in Carinthia should be filled. This applies to 255 general practitioners and 450 specialists.
