Masters in Augusta
Straka bids farewell with a round of 72
Sepp Straka played his second-best round at the National Golf Club at the end of the Masters in Augusta. The Viennese needed 72 strokes on the par-72 course on the fourth day on Sunday and was therefore tied 18th for the time being.
The 30-year-old went into the final day in 20th place and could therefore still speculate on a slight improvement in his ranking. It was already his best Masters result after finishing 30th and 46th.
Straka made birdies on the first and eighth holes and in the final round on the 18th, but bogeys on the fifth, 15th and 17th. The Austro-American finished the tournament two strokes over par, having needed 73, 71 and 74 strokes in the previous rounds to reach the clubhouse. The US American Scottie Scheffler was on his way to winning the title.
