New musical: romance with a bitter secret

It begins like a fairy tale, but then turns into a serious topic: the musical "The Light in the Piazza" had its Austrian premiere in the BlackBox of the Linz Music Theater. A young American woman, slightly mentally handicapped, wants to marry the love of her life - an Italian. Troubles are inevitable.

The musical "The Light in the Piazza", which was based on a film, first appeared on Broadway in 2005, where it ran for 500 performances. Now it can be seen in Austria for the first time. The rather unknown musical is a risky venture, which is why it has been moved to the BlackBox, as the small stage of the Linz Music Theater is called. But it has a top-class cast.
