ÖHB women also lose against Switzerland
The Austrian women's handball team also lost their third game under new team manager Monique Tijsterman. The ÖHB team lost 26:29 (11:13) to Switzerland on Wednesday in the Südstadt as part of the Euro Cup.
The last opponent of the teams qualified for the home European Championship is Hungary on Saturday in Györ, but the last place for Austria is already fixed. The first two games against Norway were lost outright.
In the second duel with the Swiss, they failed to get revenge for the 27:33 loss in the first leg in October. The best scorer in the red-white-and-red team, which showed weaknesses in all areas, was Katarina Pandza with six goals. "It's never nice to lose at home. We made a lot of mistakes and still aren't compact in defense.
There are still a few months to go until the European Championship, we definitely have a lot to put right," said Pandza after her first game under Tijsterman, who has been in charge since February.
