Refugee quarters: raids in horror houses
In Vienna, Mayor Michael Ludwig (SPÖ) has now declared the issue of security to be a top priority. On Monday, he personally ordered two major raids in the city's currently best-known horror houses, two mass accommodations in the 20th district, most of which are inhabited by refugees. Krone+ was present during the operations, you can see the frightening photos and videos below. And: the landlords are also in trouble.
Hans Z. has lived in the house at Salzachstraße 46 for 30 years, his wife Karin since 1984. And although the building looks the way it does, they like living here. "The house with its thick walls is like a castle," says Mr Z. He has got used to the neighbors. "Syrians are night people," he explains. "In the evening, they cut up their mutton or whatever else they do, but after 11 p.m. it's quiet."
