A major scandal broke out during a lower division match in Upper Austria. A footballer became violent towards his (!) club's own assistant referee after being sent off, prompting the police to deploy three patrol cars. The chairman sees integration trampled underfoot.
"After such an unbelievable incident, you have to ask yourself whether volunteer work makes any sense at all!" Markus Modrey, chairman of the Upper Austrian eight-a-side soccer club Westbahn Linz, is thinking hard about this after the scandal in the 1b match against Steyregg. The duel ended with the match being abandoned in the 85th minute, followed by a police intervention. But what had happened?
