Crazy: Reenacting Fast & Furious while high on drugs

How crazy is that? In a drug-fueled stupor, three young drivers on the B137 in Wels virtually re-enacted the lead-foot thriller Fast & Furious. The two drivers caught had both already had to surrender their driving licenses, but they obviously didn't care. 

Drugged drivers as the "problem bears" of domestic road traffic - this is becoming increasingly annoying and that is why the Upper Austrian police are also increasingly addressing this issue. The current focus operation of the regional traffic department began at 5.44 p.m. in Wels-West, where a 32-year-old man from Wels, whose driving license had already been revoked for five years, was taken for a clinical examination due to clear symptoms and a positive preliminary test. There, his fitness to drive was medically confirmed.

Three drivers caught speeding
The incident continued at 9 p.m. on the B 137 in Wels, where three cars were caught speeding, overtaking each other and changing lanes abruptly. During the subsequent check, a 23-year-old man from Grieskirchen and an 18-year-old woman from Wels were stopped, both of whom were driving a vehicle despite their driving licenses being revoked and showed signs of being impaired by narcotics. The man refused any examination, while the young woman was found to be unfit to drive, whereupon her probationary driving license was temporarily revoked.

Driver's license only recently returned
The final stop was at 11.21 p.m. in Marchtrenk, where a 21-year-old man was stopped. He had only recently had his driver's license back after a withdrawal for drug use at the wheel, was impaired again and tested positive. In his case too, a doctor confirmed that he was unfit to drive, whereupon his driver's license was again temporarily revoked.
