How the unemployed break down by nationality

Around 21 percent of all people in employment in Upper Austria in the third quarter of last year were foreign nationals - in other words, one in five was not Austrian. But what is the breakdown of those who were unemployed in December of the previous year? The "Krone" knows the unemployment rate by nation.

At the end of last year, a total of 41,210 people were registered as unemployed in Upper Austria, while 9,329 people were taking part in AMS training courses. Around 40 percent of these were foreign nationals.

The number of unemployed foreign nationals has risen by around 18% compared to December 2022. That of Austrian citizens by 7.2 percent. An increase of around two percent was recorded for foreign nationals attending AMS training courses.
