Foxes mauled living man: how can this be?

The discovery was macabre, the circumstances very mysterious. In Feldthurns in South Tyrol, search parties found local resident Albert Stockner (73) lying unconscious on the ground. His body was covered in countless fox bites. He died a short time later in hospital. Krone+ asked Austrian animal experts about the abnormal animal behavior. The explanations are unusual.

Originally, the investigators suspected that the bite marks could have come from a wolf, a dog or a golden jackal. Only a DNA analysis and an autopsy revealed more details.
