Even if someone dies, a car parked in the short-term parking zone in Vienna has to be paid for. For widow Britta S., this is incomprehensible. The ombudswoman and Krone+ took a look at whether the parking meter law has any mercy.

The city is demanding just under 3,500 euros for a parking period of 1,393 hours. Mrs. S. actually had no other chance. She was not allowed to move her deceased husband's car until the estate was closed. And as the heir, she now has to pay the costs.
