Klagenfurt’s mayor takes action against hate postings

It should be clear to everyone by now that the internet is not a space free of punishment. Now a Klagenfurt resident has received a complaint "for defamation and insult via Facebook" - and the alleged victim of the digital attack is none other than the mayor of the provincial capital.

Politicians need a thick skin - especially on the internet. Angry citizens can get carried away and make unpleasant comments or postings. Martin P. from Klagenfurt has now had to learn the hard way that this can have legal repercussions.
