Bill Gates talks about his girlfriend for the first time

Bill Gates has been seen with Paula Hurd by his side for several months now. Now the 69-year-old billionaire has spoken about his new love for the first time.

Gates divorced his wife Melinda Gates in 2021, but the Microsoft founder is now in a new relationship. On the "Today Show", he confirmed his relationship for the first time - and even let a few details slip.

"Doing lots of great things together"
"I'm happy to have a steady girlfriend called Paula", explained Gates. The relationship is going fantastically well, the billionaire continued. "We have fun. We go to the Olympics and do lots of great things together."

The first rumors of love started back in 2023, around four years after the death of Hurd's husband, former Oracle CEO Mark Hurd. The two have been spotted together time and again - for example at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's engagement party.

Hurd and Gates finally made their red carpet debut as a couple last April at the Breakthrough Prize Ceremony at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.

"I've put divorce behind me"
It was only at the end of the year that Gates admitted that his divorce from Melinda was the mistake "that I regret the most". In the current interview, however, he made it clear that he did not want to change the past. 

"My business career has been incredibly phenomenal, despite some ups and downs. My children are phenomenal. So it's hard for me to complain about things," said Gates. "I've moved on from the divorce and Melinda is doing well. I have a lot of work that I enjoy doing. So I'm not really complaining about anything."
