A wild traffic accident occurred on Sunday night in Fügen (Schwaz district)! A young female driver (18) drove her moped off the road and ended up in a ditch. She was injured. A breathalyzer test was positive. A young East Tyrolean also lost his license after an accident under the influence of alcohol.

The accident occurred in the municipality of Fügen in the direction of Fügenberg. At around 2.28 a.m., the 18-year-old probationary driver's license holder drove her four-wheeled light motor vehicle off the road in a bend.

Woman injured and intoxicated
The vehicle crashed into a ditch. The local woman was seriously injured and taken to Schwaz District Hospital by the ambulance service. "A breathalyzer test carried out on the woman was positive," said the police. Numerous firefighters from Fügen and Schlitters and two police patrols were deployed.

Accident in East Tyrol
An accident under the influence of alcohol did not only occur in the Zillertal. In Gaimberg (Lienz district), too, emergency services had to be deployed shortly after 11 pm on Saturday. An 18-year-old local man was driving his car on the Gaimbergstraße together with three colleagues.

The driver was only in possession of a driving license for motorcycles.

In a sharp left-hand bend, he lost control of the car and skidded 60 meters through a ditch. Fortunately, all four people were uninjured. "The driver was only in possession of a driving license for motorcycles. A breathalyzer test was positive, which is why his driver's license was confiscated on the spot," said the police.

Traffic was stopped on both sides of the road while the vehicle was being recovered. The car involved in the accident sustained considerable material damage.
