Mega benefit concert planned for Los Angeles

More than 12,000 buildings were destroyed or damaged and at least 27 people lost their lives in the flaming hell of Los Angeles. But now there is good news for those who lost everything: Numerous superstars are performing at a benefit concert in aid of the victims.

The benefit concert, which is to be called "FireAid", has already been confirmed by many prominent musicians. Not only Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish will be singing, but also Katy Perry, Sting and Rod Stewart.

Other stars of the "FireAid" concert include Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, Jelly Roll, Green Day, Earth, Wind & Fire and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. More musicians are to follow, the organizers have already announced.

On January 30, the stars will perform at two venues in Inglewood, south of Los Angeles. "FireAid" will also be broadcast on Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube and Spotify. 

Also protection against future disasters
The benefit concert is dedicated to "communities devastated by wildfires", according to the organizers.

Funds donated in connection with the concert would be distributed under the advice of the Annenberg Foundation. "The funds will benefit both short-term relief efforts and long-term initiatives to prevent future fire disasters in Southern California."
