Air cabs: revolution in the sky or a pipe dream?

Conveniently flying over and around traffic jams and other traffic obstructions above the clouds - this is the vision that so-called eVTOLs, commonly known as air cabs, are set to make a reality in the near future. However, while some politicians attribute enormous potential to these aircraft, experts see them as a bit of a pipe dream.

Air cabs and other vertical take-off and landing vehicles (eVTOLs) are expected to help relieve traffic congestion, especially in large cities where roads are notoriously congested, and transport people from A to B more efficiently, quietly and cheaply than conventional helicopters, for example.
