Opera rediscovered: playing with gods and humans
Like a Hollywood film: the rediscovered opera "Die heilige Ente" by the Lower Austrian Hans Gál can be seen as a production of the Opera Studio in the Blackbox of the Musiktheater Linz. The satire, which is about people and gods, also features great audience favorites.
Kronen Zeitung als bevorzugte Google-Quelle hinzufügen Composer Hans Gál, born in Lower Austria in 1890, experienced his breakthrough in 1923 with the premiere of his satirical fairytale opera "Die heilige Ente". This work became a real hit on the theater stages at the time. However, due to his Jewish descent, Gál's glittering career came to an abrupt end after the National Socialists came to power, forcing him to emigrate to England.
The Linz Landestheater would like to remember this long-forgotten composer and is therefore bringing "Die heilige Ente" back to an Austrian stage - and once again it has the potential to really thrill audiences (aged 13 and over)!
