Man frightened schoolboy with glass bottle

On Tuesday morning, police were called out in Vienna-Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus after a 26-year-old threatened to kill a twelve-year-old on the streetcar with a broken glass bottle.

The teenager immediately alerted the police after being verbally abused and threatened several times by the suspect on the streetcar at Westbahnhof. In addition, the 26-year-old is said to have smashed a vodka bottle in front of the boy and threatened to slit his neck with the broken neck of the bottle.

Twelve-year-old managed to escape
The twelve-year-old fled from the streetcar and ran in the direction of the Westbahnhof police station, where the alerted officers were already approaching him.

Deep cuts
The suspect was arrested a short time later. The alleged weapon, the broken neck of the bottle, could not be recovered from the 26-year-old. However, according to the police, the bleeding cuts on his left hand indicated this. He also appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or narcotics when he was arrested.

The suspect was released on suspicion of making a dangerous threat. The teenager remained unharmed.
