Sick and apparently very tired, a man from Wels (40) got behind the wheel of his car on Sunday evening - until he crashed into a vehicle in front of him at a red light without braking, which in turn hit another car. In total, four people were injured in the accident.

The 40-year-old was driving in Wels at around 6 p.m. on Sunday. At the junction B1, Ulandstraße - Mathias-Schönerer-Straße, the driver may have dozed off briefly, as he later stated. According to the police, he was ill and very tired.

As a result, the man from Wels crashed into the car of a 61-year-old man who had stopped his vehicle at the junction at a red light, almost without braking. The latter's car was in turn hit by the car of a 77-year-old in front of him.

Four injured
According to the police, the 61-year-old from the Wels-Land district and his two passengers were injured, as was the 40-year-old who had caused the rear-end collision. All four were taken to the hospital in Wels. The 77-year-old in the vehicle in front escaped without injury.
