Driving into the forest and simply cutting a Christmas tree for your home yourself - can't be a problem, can it? You're wrong, because that's not allowed. We have the answers to the penalties and what the situation is for individual branches!

The misconception that the forest belongs to everyone and that collecting wood waste, small branches and the like is therefore automatically permitted anyway is unfortunately still widespread. But: "This is incorrect," says Viennese lawyer Bernhard Hofer: "It is absolutely forbidden."
