Musical gangs in the brand new children’s room

Haus Styriarte in Graz has expanded and added a children's room to its offerings. The aim is to serve the young and youngest audience with special concerts and has brought actor Christoph Steiner on board as "captain".

Kinderzimmer is the name of the Styriarte's new line and actor, musical performer and poetry slammer Christoph Steiner from the Next Liberty has been brought on board as captain. Under his aegis, special formats are being developed for young and very young audiences.

On tour with the Wolf Gang
Prokofiev's "Peter & the Wolf", which can be experienced in a fresh version (with actress Cornelia Dexl as narrator) from November 26 in the List-Halle, will kick things off. Jevgēnijs Čepoveckis leads the musical wolf gang. And from February, this production will be touring elementary school throughout Styria.

There is also a beanbag concert for the little ones at Palais Attems before Christmas. On December 21 and 22, Mira Lube's "Ein Schneemann ging durchs Land" awaits. Steiner herself and a motivated snow gang will breathe life into the enchanting story. (Six dates in total; for children aged 3 and over).

And in spring 2025, Benjamin Britten's opera "Noye's Fludde" will be firmly in the hands of children under the direction of Michael Hell. However, young musicians and singers are still being sought for this (information: [e-mail]).

Captain on course
"Demand is already high," says Styriarte director Mathis Huber happily. And Christoph Steiner promises to steer the ship on course and discover new worlds together with his audience. "After all, that's the job of a nursery captain."
