110,000 euros collected! The buck stops with overtime

Due to the financial crisis, the Carinthian capital of Klagenfurt is unable to draw up a budget for 2025; even after deducting all projects, minus 35 million euros remain. In an interview with "Krone", Mayor Christian Scheider talks about the city's financial worries and the blame for overtime.

"Krone": The financial difficulties are great. Many municipalities can barely make budgets for 2025. Klagenfurt is also in debt. They have reduced overtime, but according to the accounts, six million euros were needed for overtime payments in the previous year, and as much as 6.8 million in the year before that. What should happen now?
