The application by the judiciary to have the 89-year-old incest perpetrator placed under guardianship has now been rejected by the adult protection authority. However, the plans to release him conditionally and place him in a nursing home seem to be becoming more and more concrete.

Josef Fritzl is pretty happy at the moment. A few days ago, he received what he describes as a "very relieving" court order in his cell in the Krems-Stein men's prison. According to this, he may not be "incapacitated" after all.
