Every tenth person in Favoriten receives minimum income

Minimum income support is important because it provides social security - temporarily. At least that is the plan. However, the number of recipients is rising rapidly in more and more districts. But not everyone benefits from it, as a recent case shows.

The topic of minimum income is a perennial issue, especially in Vienna. However, it has picked up speed once again since the case of a Syrian family of nine receiving 4600 euros came to light. This is because the minimum income for families is higher in Vienna than in any other federal state.
