Winger extends his contract ahead of schedule

Following his strong start to the season, runners-up Salzburg have extended the contract of attacking player Dorgeles Nene ahead of schedule. The 21-year-old Malian signed a contract in the city of Mozart until 2028.

Nene has been with the Bulls since January 2021 and initially played for FC Liefering in the 2nd division. After loan spells at Ried and in Belgium at Westerloo, he has been a permanent fixture in coach Pep Lijnders' team since the start of this season. In nine appearances so far, he has scored six times. 

"Dorgeles has continuously developed and worked his way up over the last few years. His performances in the season so far have been impressive and we are delighted that we have been able to continue on this path together and reach an early contract extension," explains sporting director Bernhard Seonbuchner. 

"Not always easy"

Nene emphasizes: "I'm very happy that people trust me at Salzburg and that I've been able to justify this trust, especially in the current season. It hasn't always been easy and I've taken a few detours to get to where I am now. My goal now is to win titles and also show what we can do at international level."
