Ahmad Ibseh came to Carinthia from Syria ten years ago and initially only knew Arabic. He integrated himself, learned German, went to school, did an apprenticeship and is now opening his own store.
Over 120 nations live in Klagenfurt, including many Syrians. And one of them is Ahmad Ibseh, who shows how integration can work. The now 30-year-old came to Carinthia in 2016, to an asylum home for men. "I didn't want to serve in an army that shoots at its own people," says Ibseh, who lost his parents in the war at the age of 21.
