Starting victories for two of Austria’s men’s duos

With Julian Hörl/Alexander Horst and Timo Hammarberg/Philipp Waller, two of the four Austrian men's teams have won their opening group matches at the European Beach Volleyball Championships in the Netherlands!

Olympic participants Hörl/Horst defeated France's Teo Rotar/Arnaud Gauthier-Rat 2:1 (-13,19,13) on Wednesday. Hammarberg/Waller won against the Swiss Marco Krattiger/Florian Breer 2:0 (16,11).

Mathias Seiser/Laurenc Grössig and Florian Schnetzer/Moritz Kindl, on the other hand, lost their first of three group matches without winning a set.

Friedl/Trailovic eliminated from the group in last place 
The three Austrian women's pairs were each in action twice after their opening defeats on Tuesday.

Katharina Schützenhöfer/Lena Plesiutschnig and Dorina Klinger/Ronja Klinger made it through to the knockout phase with a win each. Franziska Friedl/Anja Trailovic, on the other hand, lost twice again 0:2 and were eliminated from the group in last place.
