Shocking interrogation
Beran A.: “There are too many sinners in this world”
The shock statements of terror suspect Beran A.: He sees himself as a servant of Allah, hates pop music, despises "infidels" and admires terrorists. And he is not afraid of death. "Because after that I will go to paradise," the 19-year-old is certain.
Suddenly he is quite meek in his almost obsessive efforts not to attract negative attention. Beran A. behaves extremely quietly in Wiener Neustadt prison, where he has been imprisoned for just under a week, crouching on his bed most of the day with his legs drawn up and his eyes closed, thanking guards almost effusively when they bring him food or a bar of soap in his cell.
A confession of horror
And when his lawyer Werner Tomanek visits, he constantly asks him: "Do I really have to stay in prison?" And then, with tears streaming down his cheeks, he whines again: "I finally want to see my dad and my mom ..."
Beran A. now presents himself in a completely different light than he did last week during his interrogations.
