The race is over, the winner has been decided. Donald Trump can already choose the furnishings for the White House. Or can he? The rise of Kamala Harris as presidential candidate has reshuffled the cards in the US election campaign. Krone+ knows the reasons why Trump is by no means a lock to win. 

"Harris will be easier to beat than Joe Biden," Donald Trump said with conviction shortly after Joe Biden's announcement that he was withdrawing from the US election campaign. A few hours later, he posted an angry comment on the Truth Social platform, which he co-founded. His campaign team had invested a lot of time and money in "the fight against the fraudulent Joe Biden". "Now we have to start all over again," he wrote in a huff.

At a rally in Michigan, the Republican gave his supporters a little taste of the clash to come: "I call her 'laughing Kamala'. Have you ever seen her laugh? She's crazy. You can tell a lot from a laugh. She is crazy."

Such verbal jabs show just how tense nerves are in the Republican camp. Even if Trump and his team present themselves as confident of victory in public, the controversial ex-president's return to the White House is not a "g'mahte Wies'n".
