How the VVT takes you to the Generali Open for free

The tennis tournament in Kitzbühel and the Verkehrsverbund Tirol are offering a special treat to all fans traveling by public transport. We explain how to get your free ticket.

When the Generali Open takes place in Kitzbühel from July 20 to 27, fans traveling by public transport will have a clear advantage: for the first time, they will travel free of charge, provided they stay within Tyrol.

"Region, residents and environment benefit"
In cooperation with the Verkehrsverbund Tirol (VVT), Austria's largest open-air tennis tournament has ensured that anyone with a ticket for the sporting spectacle can use public transport to and from the event free of charge. "In this way, we not only want to offer our guests added value, but also set an example for environmentally friendly travel," explains Generali Open Managing Director Florian Zinnagl.

VVT Managing Director Alexander Jug is also delighted with this cooperation: "CO₂ pollution and noise pollution decrease with every car that stays at home. The region and its residents also benefit from sustainable travel by public transport."

Special ticket plus admission ticket
But please note: To take advantage of the offer as a tournament visitor, it is not enough to show your Generali Open admission ticket on the train or bus. You also need a special public transport ticket, which you have to generate online. You can find detailed instructions with a link in the graphic above. Only with the combination of VVT and tournament ticket can you travel to the tennis tournament in Kitzbühel free of charge.
